Practitioner Success

Practitioner SuccessMy Green Advantage Certification stuck out like a shining star in a heap of job applicants and was one of the things that caught the eye of my current employer. The job I originally applied for had been filled and they told me they were going to put my application on file. You always hear that, but they actually invited me back.

I had applied to many places and once the Green Advantage Certification was added to my resume it truly got me noticed. In fact, in a lot of respects, Green Advantage Certification did more for me than a four year degree. In my job search I found that employers are looking for niches and want new hires to be specialists with an education and or certification that differentiates you.

Bidle’s interest in sustainability was peaked as he was considering a topic for his MBA thesis and came across an article detailing the green WalMart in Colorado. “I saw the practical application; that they weren’t just concerned about the environment and wanted to save a buck which made me see how much sustainability is tied into the building industry,” he added.

Bidle has turned an interest and good networking experience into a career direction. “A friend referred me to the CEO of Green Advantage, I found a workshop, got my residential certification and in January of this year passed my LEED-AP exam.”
