Green Advantage Announces Change in Policy for Training

As of July 1, 2009, Green Advantage has decided that it will no longer authorize organizations offering training for the Green Advantage Certification. GA will instead allow training providers to develop and offer trainings how they choose, encouraging them to pursue the most effective methods of training they can without restriction, and will allow Green Advantage to focus our energy and attention on maintaining and improving the quality of our Certification Exams and the Certification itself.

The Growth of Green

Articles and personal interviews have affirmed that despite the tight economy, green building continues to grow in strength and value.

In a May 20 e-release titled “Green Building Growing at a Surprising Rate,” the National Association of Home Builders acknowledged this: “We’ve said for a while that green building is a bright spot in a down market,” said NAHB Chairman Joe Robson, a home builder and developer in Tulsa, Oklahoma. “However, the growth of the NAHB National Green Building Program exceeds even our most optimistic expectations.”

“Builders Get Their Own Shade of Green Certification”

Earlier this year design-build contractor GeoStructures, which engineers earth structures and foundations, hosted a one-day Green Advantage training course for its staff and several builders.
